‘Turbocharging Tourism’ is the Northern Territory Governments action plan to stimulate the economy by accelerating overall tourism growth. Extended over two years, the Government will invest a total of $103 million across tourism infrastructure and employment.
A portion of these funds will drive the development of a new interpretive display from the Tennant Creek CBD to the Battery Hill Mining Centre. It will share the story of Tennant Creek’s social and mining histories and stimulate interest in visiting other notable sites within the area.
In October of 2018, Guard Solutions was chosen by the NT Government to provide a comprehensive assessment of all built infrastructure within the historic Battery Hill Mining & Visitor Centre.
Collaborating with local Engineers, Civil & Trade Specialists, Guard Solutions delivered an audit of all key structural assets and utilities to inform future works and renovations at the Visitor Centre.
Equipped with this information, the NT Government will begin to prioritise its structural upgrades at the facility.
